Heroic Events in Yogyakarta

The power struggle in Yogyakarta began on September 26, 1945, when government employees and companies controlled by Japan staged a strike. They demanded that Japan surrender all offices to the Indonesian side. 10:00 WIB.

Heroic Events in Surabaya

There was a flag incident at the Yamato Hotel, Tunjungan Surabaya. The Dutch fly the Red and Blue flag on the hotel roof. The people then stormed the hotel, lowered, and tore the blue flag to be hoisted again. This incident occurred on September 19, 1945.

The Kalimantan people also tried to uphold independence by raising the Red and White flag, wearing the Red and White badge, and holding meetings. However, this activity was banned by the Allied forces that were already in Kalimantan. The people ignored the Allied ban, so on November 14, 1945 in Balikpapan (in front of the Allied headquarters) around 8,000 people gathered with the Red and White flag.
